 Not a woman's job

On 22 January, we welcomed Chiara Negrello, freelance photographer and Canon ambassador.
During the meeting, we travelled with Chiara from Rovigo to Ecuador through her photographs, discovering realities near and far where women have been the protagonists of stories and acts of resistance and adaptation.
Chiara Negrello (1995 ) is is a freelance photographer and Canon Ambassador. Born in Rovigo, Italy, she graduated in photography from LABA ( Liberal Academy of Fine Arts) in Florence in 2017. After freelancing for a few years, in 2020-2021 she attended the Documentary Practice and Visual Journalism Program at the International Center of Photography in New York supported by the scholarship awarded by Reuters. In April 2021 she became a member of “Women Photograph” and in October 2021 she was selected for the Eddie Adams Workshop XXXIV.
Her work, which mixes photography and video, focuses primarily on social issues and have been published by: The New York Times, National Geographic, D la Repubblica, Mareverlag, El Pais, MarieClaire, Der Spiegel, Burn Magazine, Focus among others and has been exhibited in collective and solo exhibitions in Italy and abroad.
She teaches “Multimedia Storytelling” at Jack London, literature and photography school.
